No response :-D God...
Jon en Criss Oliva, doesn't that ring a bell ?? Criss died, and jon still goes on, god bless his soul, with Jon Oliva's Pain (also a group).
And along with savatage goes: Trans Siberian Orchestra, a side project of the brothers, 100%instrumental. Very enjoyable...
Please tell me somebody here now knows what I am talking about... SAVATAGE, i mean.... SAVATAGE !!!

Savatage is pretty good! I am not into metal much but I like them.
click here to listen to Savatage~~Gutter Ballet
and
click here to listen to Savatage~~Sleep
I wouldn't classify this has heavy metal, which is good for me, since I am a mellow girl!
Savatage has their roots back in the 1970's but oddly enough, I have never heard them.
Thanks for the recommendation, Oblivionofsoul

Well, they are well known within certain circles... It was quite the tradgedy when Criss died...
Maybe if I mention that bands such as Blind Guardian, Iced earth and many others were influenced by them...
Or maybe: Hall of the mountain king, rings a bell...
If all this doesn't ring a bell listen to this:
YouTube - Anita Ward - Ring My Bell (1979)
And then start googling Savatage...

Thanks Oblivionofsoul, I have all of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth's albums, and Demons & Wizards too, I didn't realize that one of the major influences on them was Savatage. I'll definitely check them out.

OK, Oblivionofsoul, how does that video tie in to Savatage? I am really confused But I do remember that song with Anita Ward, it was the disco era. I was a disco bunny

Why don't you start a Journal and do Savatage as your first subject? I know I would like to read your opinions on a band you really like, plus you have access to many other bands that we might not know about over here.

The thing is: they quit.. After a member died... So a journal would have exactly one enterence: SAVATAGE RULED.
Or isn't that what you mean?
/edit: I started a journal: obviously unavoidable... check it out.
/edit2: Didn't start with savatage though... :-D randomly selected an album using Windows media player.

I'm looking forward to reading it, and if when you do a summary/recommend about Savatage I would rather hear/learn about them from you than read it from some online source anyway.
