That's a rather sweeping statement MA, give us some examples of artists you Know are digitally enhancing their vocals, I'm sure there are still some that just do it the old fashioned way. Besides, dubbing and overdubbing have been going on for decades it is part of the process of making any recordings, the difference now is the ability using digital processes to refine and perfect it even more especially during live performance.

Oh yes, way better than St. Anger. They finally got back on track to their Black Album, Ride the Lighting, Kill Em All, days and its refreshing.

i didnt like St.Anger as much so i will say that Death Magnetic definately brings back the days of Ride the Lightning mostly. They are a true metal band and they should show it. Which they have.

I actually just bought there new album the other day. It is much better than St. Anger. I hated St. Anger. Death Magnetic has giutar solos. It's very metal, very thrash. More back to there roots. The only thing is, I don't care for Hetfield's voice. It should have been a little more raunchy to go with that thrash sound. You know, like the old albums from the 80's how his voice was all raunchy. Then he changed his singing style so it's a little more clean. Other than that I would say it's not bad. Loved the guitar work. I sure missed it.

im not sure it would be easy for Hetfield to keep his voice from the 80's because he does grow up, i really enjoy his voice, the new album really shows how well he does as a singer. and the guitar solos are definately a plus

The new metallica rules. It has been 17 years and finally metallica got off their ass and did a great album. Now lets all pray that their next album isnt rap or hip-hop.

I for one don't think Metallica will ever do a rap/hip hop record,,,the very thought makes me laugh,,,the spectacular response to "Death Magnetic" should ensure another CD of classic old school Metallica, which is what we all want from them anyway.
