Thread: One Less Reason

One Less Reason is a straight forward pop alternative rock group that plays melodic hard rock with a touch of southern rock. Rock ballads are their ace especially with their amazing frontman/vocalist but they definitely can hold their own with a harder edged rock song!



My first two introductory songs came from the above pictured c.d. "Everydaylife"! The first song I heard was an awesome rock cover of Princes "When Doves Cry":

The second is one of the best alternative rock ballads I've ever heard

"A Day to be Alone" (multiple variations have ben made of this song)

Agreeing with you that they didn't reinvent the wheel.

I've heard of them before Bry, but was never impressed enough to check them out further. I gave them one more chance here...I played all the videos you embedded. Nope, not for me. But, you've written a very nice thread as usual.

Trey, you are always willing to give something a listen (twice even better) which is an automatic pass with me! You too OB! for both of you!

Trey and Oblivion, I think we all have our formulaic bands or our own personal "Nickelback" (I was self aware and waiting for that OB) in our collections. So much simple catchy melodic rock that we would all just throw names out their and nobody would agree because we got hooked on the melodies. "It would be every song sounds the same" "No it doesn't!" "Yes, it does!" Gotta love the subjective arguments I've seen over the years!

Personally, I'm self aware of my formulaic bands and I'll give you another bias on One Less Reason! They are a ballad driven, acoustic favoring band and I'm a sucker for emoting even if the ballads outnumber the heavier tracks on the c.d.! I restrained myself from flooding the thread with every single ballad they did just for balance! Plus, it doesn't hurt that I stand by the vocalist awesome voice! Definitely better than Kroegers in my opinion! There are a couple people in this forum that I have a hunch would be feeling this band! Just a hunch though!

I'm almost always willing to listen at least twice. Your mood can affect how music comes across to you sometimes.

I'm all for the hard sell Trey! I'm working on being the Billie Mays of MF!
Seriously though, being a real music fan is all about hearing "Nope! Don't like it!" If you listen to enough music you are going to hear that more often than not!

Sweet! I love "A Lifetime Burning"! It's kind of a hodgepodge of their earlier material with some new stuff but the production is better and I love how they mix in some live songs as well. I'm excited for the new upcoming c.d.! The best part is they say the c.d. will actually be available in stores!

I will always listen to new music and try it out... I download alot and I buy alot of music every month... But a band like this, a formulaic band (had to look 'formulaic' up, lol) as you call it can't be passed on easely... They have to grow on you, you have to discover them step by step... and by the time you realise that they are infact not that good, you have grown to like them and will forever listen to them

I agree! Some artist can deliver a ballad with more sincerity than others! I feel this way more than any Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Three Doors Down or Hinder music and I own them all except for ToaD (saw them live though)! I think I better stop posting before they retitle my thread "The One Less Reason Campaign"! This has become a very polarizing band thread! I had no idea that it would be!
