Alice in Chains - Check My Brain
    Pearl Jam - Supersonic
    Biffy Clyro - Mountains
    Them Crooked Vultures - Elephant

... or just put the full albums on your ipod, but those are some good rock songs from this year, imo of course.

Trey is a girl btw.... dont worry, you're not the first and you wont be the last to make that mistake, lol.

I don't recall you making that mistake SMB.

Anyway...MZ was just being funny with the comment about me helping. He knows I have a pet-peeve about posts like this. No offense to the newbie who created this thread...but I just don't "get" why you would ask people you just met to recommend music to you? I would never go up to someone I didn't know and say "Hey, tell me what music to listen to." Shouldn't music be something personal...something subjective on how it makes each of us feel individually? Part of what makes music meaningful and special (to me) is the road to discovery. This site is a great place to discover new music. Just don't take the easy (and possible unfulfillable) way out by asking others to "pick" songs for you. Look, read and listen to the threads here...and/or visit other music sites like lastfm, pandorna, etc. Okay. Rant over.

Way to miss the point completely.

"Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it. You want something? Go get it. Period. "

I've been playing violin for about a year and I will soon be getting an electric violin. I would like to know some good but relatively easy rock songs I could play.

^How 'bout a really easy one Down and Out by Tantric, it's technically a viola part, but i'm sure you can play it on the violin.
