When I use shoutcast, why does itunes open instead of Winamp?

I want Winamp to open when I listen to Shoutcast radio stations but instead iTunes opens. How do I change it to Winamp? I tried re-installing winamp and making it the default program but that didn't work. I don't want to uninstall iTunes.
you have to go into the settings of itunes and uncheck the box that makes it the default media player. Do the opposite for the winamp... make it the default player.
