I’m tired of roaming the streets
In this cold depressing neighborhood
I’m tired of not having money
It’s been awhile since life felt good

I don’t have a sweetheart to love
My friends have stopped calling me
So I’m gonna pack my bag
And travel way over sea’s

I know there’s a place somewhere
Where the sun always shines bright
Where love comes easy, the whiskey’s cheap
And people are happy and polite

I say good bye to this old town
I won’t be coming back
Tomorrow before sunrise
I’m leaving with my backpack

My future is not the brightest
So I ain’t got nothing to lose
Sick of walking around with my sorrows
No more roaming the streets with the blues

I’m going to Shang ri la
Or I’ll die on my exploration
But that’s a chance I’m gonna take
I’m leaving town without hesitation

To a place where living is easy
Sun shines and the grass is green
Where the booze is cheap and oceans warm
And trouble’s nowhere to be seen
