Write your own damn lyrics. I don't have much respect for singers who can't or don't write their own lyrics. Too many people these days just have a nice voice- to gain my respect as a musician, you have to do more than sing. Play an instrument, or at least write your own stuff. Many people feel the same way. so yeah, if you want to become a successful musician, you may want to get some practice with this.

People walk past me in the street like i'm not even there,

try going through your average day and think about the things you do. If you need inspiration try listening to your favorite singer. When you have free time just randomly hum a tune and then add words to it. It's fun writing your own songs =D Good luck in your competition!

that's against the law and being that it's on the internet you could easily get in big trouble for it if someone finds out.
