Yay songwriters!
Okay, first step is to pick a topic, like death of a family member, alcoholism, (Think: Call Me When You're Sober, Evanescence) loss, a breakup, cutting, whatever. Something terribly, terribly depressing.
Next, write the chorus, something about the topic but veiled enough to be a interpretted as it without singing something like "poor bob died...la la la". So like "ohh...Bob took the broken pieces of my heart to hell when he overdoseeeeed"
Finally, verses can be nonesense. Followed by a little bit of a plotline, some well placed similies,
TADA! You're a goth songwriter. Smile. Or actually, don't.
