Default Where are the new black/soul bands?

I'm not talking about rap groups. I'm talking about a group of musicians that rock the house. There are new rock bands and new country bands. I see black artists backed by bands, but no new black bands. Just curious

Public school music programs are on the decline. Many R&B artists started out with instruments in basic band at school. Curriculum changes reduce the output of musicians.

clayton......are you kidding me???? please list the ones who made it because of chorus class in high school!!!!!! That was pretty stupid!!!!! And to answer your question, music seems to go in fads. solo and collaborations seem to rule the time as of now, late 80's early 90's was the erea of the r&b groups like, troop, guy, levert, blackstreet, hi-5, and the list goes on. there out there but it just isnt there time. but like you im waiting, patiently!!!!!

And if you can't find anything new that moves you sometimes it is a good idea to go back, to when music was music. Maybe Sly and the Family Stone or some George Clinton may be the fix you are looking for.

Check out Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings...Stuff's recorded on reel-to-reel, spliced with tape, good ol' fasion lo-fi sound in new music.

There's also a compilation CD you may be interested in, titled Hot, Funky & Sweaty. I found it on Rhapsody.
