    Default Same song different artists

I hope i'm not in the wrong category, i wasn't really sure where to put this thread

The First time i heard "all the stupid things" it was sung by Jesse McCartney and i had no ideal Robin thicke also sung it. I'm not really familiar with his music (... i didn't even know he existed )
When two artist sing the same song it's always a debate on who sings it better but i can't choose i think they both do a good job.

Anyway here is Robin Thicke's version with piano:

And Jesse McCartney with the guitar:

I love this song! I think it's the melody of it that really gets me.
And apparently lots of people like to sing it but i don't blame them it's a really nice song.

Those songs are called "Cover" songs. Alot of this goes on in the music industry.

    another good cover song was:

American Woman first by Guess Who then covered by Lenny Kravitz

have you ever thought the cover of a song was even better than the original?

one case of this would be The Shins cover of "We Will Become Silhouettes". I think it blows the original out of the water.

"Lately you seem like another language..."

Some of the covers bands do are better than the originals. But i've seen bands try to do covers of Metallica songs, and that plain just does not go well.

How could such a classic like astro zombies be ruined by MCR?!?

Two different versions of Hurt, the original done by NIN and the other by the man in black

I like the version by Johnny Cash, that is one of the best videos I have ever watched in a long time, simple and yet just magnificent. Trent Reznor was proud that Johnny covered his song, and I can see why.

I like MCR, I don't think they ruined Astro Zombies, it's not my favorite song but they did a decent cover.

Imagine by John Lennon, covered by A Perfect Circle. I still prefer the original, but APC did a great ''Zeppelin Kashmir'' style cover that did justice. I think John would be proud.
