Cool Newbie on a mission to revive the music industry!

    Hey guys,

I know I'm new to the forum my name is Jylane. I have a new project called the Global Gig Goers.

This is a magazine that features stories of fans and bands at gigs. We are currently looking to make a commercial and we need your help. If you would like to be in our commercial, please go to Global Gig Goers and click on submissions. We are looking for photos of you and your friends having fun at gigs (the zanier the better and if you are wearing your favorite bands shirt in the photo, even better to help promote them to a wide audience).

Also, if you have a story that you would like featured (I know a lot of people blog about their experience at shows), we are looking for stories from gigs. Maybe one of the band members did something really cool for you or something really funny happened? This is a great way to promote your favorite band and show them love. Get others interested in listening to their music. Your story will get a chance to win our "Story of the Month" contest where readers will vote on it and a chance to win a cool prize. AND you may even get a chance to get your story in our upcoming book.

Profits from the magazine are going to charity, so it's a good chance to promote your favourite band AND do something great to help the world out!

Thank you all for your time and I hope to see your photos/stories soon.

Not sure why there is a release form on the photo submission page.
If it is of me and my friends, dont you need permission from everyone in the photo and if not, whats the point of the release form?
    Just curious

    Cool

Any people who appear in a photograph, whether professional models or not, should sign a release for the photographer to use their image.

You are signing the release form as the photographer. As the photographer, you are responsible for getting the expressed permission from the people in the photograph.

Sorry I adjusted the release form to make it more clear.

So if I give expressed consent to use a photo from a concert and there are 100 people in the background of the photo (concert) and I have consent from my friend beside me but the girl in the
4th row showing her rack didnt give consent and her husband divorces her cause she wasnt at her bridge club, who does she go after, you or I?

1:I was advised "Releases are generally not required from people who are identifiable in a photograph of a street or public place, provided that the photograph is reasonably related to the subject matter and the identifiable people are not the focus of the photograph. An example of a permitted use would be a photograph of the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink that was used to illustrate a book about Rockefeller Center or about New York City attractions, even though many people may be identifiable."
    2: I work for lawyers
3: Even though we have not released the name of the charity yet since we are still working on everything, doesn't mean that we don't stay true to our word. I'm not about to jeopardize my business by making false promises and false statements like a dirty politician
4: Thanks for the warm welcome to someone who is ACTUALLY trying to do some good in this world and help people.

I hope you understand this is a forum on the internet.
Anyone can make a webpage and make it look legit. Takes a few minutes.
Do you really expect not to be challenged. 3 posts in a forum does not make you or your cause legitimate.
I of course ACTUALLY Welcome you.

1: How can you prove my release if I find a pic on the internet and insert the name Joe Blow into the text box...you were advised wrong.

    2: Who cares.

3: The simple fact that you are not releasing the name of the Charity makes you look shifty to me....talk is cheap...all non-profit agencies must submit a disclosure...you have not, maybe you should check that with the lawyers you work for....there are laws governing non-profit organizations.

4: When did I welcome you?

MZ and Bengal! Bravo!!! You guys impress me more with each passing minute!
You guys are almost paralegals from the sound of it! Remind me if I have any questions about the legality of music and promotional materials you guys are getting PM'd!!!!

And I of course actually welcome you jylaneclark, but you have to understand the internet is a wide and mysterious place...And you are just another production company, remember that. It does seem a bit pretentious to declare yourself "Newbie on a mission to revive the music industry!"
David and Goliath man....Check it out some time....

I do like the concept although I would have to agree with everyone else.

I personally myself own a non-profit website dedicated to bands and photography, and even I know that you must submit a disclosure to be approved if you want to be a non-profit organization and recieve donations, hence why my website does not accept donations but rather suggests you donate DIRECTLY to the charities.

As a photographer; there is a lot of legal stuff I see here, and as for a release form where you fill in the blank? sketchy. sorry.
