Ummm.....allright then. I was reading through some of these posts and im surprised that i haven't seen ZZ Top mentioned at all... I also saw someone put Pink Floyd as one of the most overrated bands... Well, quite frankly, that person doesn't know anything about music, because Pink Floyd deserves all the recognition they get, even more. Pink Floyd is my favorite band for many reasons. One, Roger Waters lyrics. In my book, he's one of the top sonwriters of all time, with names such as John Lennon, Tom Petty, Bob Dillion, and numerous others. Two, David Gilmour. I really don't need to explain, but he's just one of the greatest. He's the only guitarist i have listen to that can tell a story with a solo, and make you feel emotional about what he just played, simply amazing. Richard Wright, God rest his soul, is the most underrated musician out there. His amazing ability to play keyboards, which he is known for, and his ability to play numerous brass instruments along with the guitar. Listen to the intros to Echoes, and Shine on you Crazy Diamond. You'll see why he is the most underrated ever. Pink Floyd is no where's near close to overrated. Not to mention their use of major, minor, dimished, augmented chords, along with making them seventh chords, flatting the 15th notes, and so many musical geniuses inside their songs...

They shouldn't be overrated bands because they have many years playing good live shows and people still remember back in the good old days. If people thinks Pink Floyd was overrated are insane because they are one of the best underrated band of all time. And I just don't understand with people opinion about top ten overrated bands. If they want to know who are the most overrated band ever pick Fall Out Boy because I never like them. And their music sounds kinda too corny to me. | ||

I don't have Pink Floyd overrated, but many people especially younger fans are tired of the old standards like Pink Floyd being held up as the greatest band ever. I like PF alot, and they had a huge impact in the music world, their live shows are beyond imagining, everybody loves to go to their concerts especially other musicians to see what they have come up with that is new and revolutionary. I have PF in my all time top 10 bands in history. | ||

I agree with you Grendel because other musician who are really good and show what they can do for making people enjoying their music. I think that in the 60s is the best decade for me because everytime I listening to oldies it makes me want to dance. People have their different taste in music and my brother likes rap a lot. But I am not into rap music very much because I just don't think they can't sing.lol Just like John Enwistle the bass guitar quote "people who can`t sing do rap". Does anybody like the Early Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett. I really love Syd Barrett. And Bike is pretty random song they ever wrote. And Syd wrote that song.lol That song made me laugh because it's sounds really silly. Apple and Oranges, Juila dream, See Emily play are also good songs too. | ||

You know I appreciate what Sid Barrett did in the early days of PF, but I like the band from Meddle forward the best. LOL, I have read many different points of view about this subject, some purists saying that Piper was the most important best album PF did, whereas I always like DSOTM best. I agree with John's comment as well, I just don't find rap/hip-hop very interesting musically, and before anyone freaks out that is just my own opinion I'm not denigrating the whole genre or the fans that like it.  | ||

Piper at the Gate of Dawn is one of the most underrated Pink Floyd album. And Darkside of the Moon is a great one as well too. My friend's band cover some Pink Floyd songs soon after Richard Wright's pass away. I remember that they told me about it when I went see them play live at the evening music like a couple weeks ago. I found one of the video my friend band cover a Pink Floyd song if you wanna watch it. I will send you the link for the video. WAY COOL!!! My band did a cover of the Pink Floyd song "Breathe". Just go on youtube and type in: Tunes for Charity We'll be the first one on there
